Super Duper Superbowl 2010

Come on Friday night for the most epic Superbowl of your life!  Before the pros play on Superbowl Sunday (Feb. 7th) we are going to have our own Superbowl that involves, strobe-light volleyball, football, and other gameage that will blow your mind!  You do NOT want to miss this!

Cost: $5

When: Friday night, Feb. 5th. 6-10pm

Location: The SuperDome (actually just the gym at Calvary)

Includes: BBQ/Tons of food, Games, fun people, a football movie, and the kind of hanging out that you love.

Dress Code: Come dressed up as any one of these things!!!  Just do it!

Promo Sunday!!!!

This Sunday is Promotion Sunday.  This not only means that we get to greet our new freshmen…it means that we get to hear about what this summer is all about. Why WANTED? When is ROMP? Why is this high school group so awesome?  All of these questions will be answered while we simultaneously have a really great time hanging out and worshipping together.  So BE THERE!  And be on time! We are going to  start starting when we say we start! So there.  Can’t wait to see you Sunday!

Student Led Meeting!!!

Last night at EDL we watched the latest Nooma video and then talked about it together. At the very end of the night we posed a question for a little contest: “How many times do we see Rob Bell blink in this video?”

It’s about a 12-minute video, with Rob appearing in half of it and a story being shown the other half. So everyone had to guess how many times they thought Rob Bell blinked in the 6 minutes or so that he was on screen.

The lowest guess was 89, the highest guess was 3,000…

Rob Bell blinked 508 times!

The winning guess was Peter Dulebohn with a guess of 505, only THREE away!

Hume Lake Update!

Our theme for summer 2009 is called “HEY, RUBE!” And it has a lot to do with Clowns and a little to do with Mimes. It will be an unforgettable summer talking through the idea that as Christians we are called to be the “salt of the earth,” and to show love to our neighbors. The question we will be asking this summer is do you truly care about the people in the world? Why is it that many of those who don’t know Christ are serving and loving others more than a lot of Christians? This summer we want to push, challenge, and stir something in you to get you to care about loving people around you and show them Jesus by the way that you live.
